Re: Setting things in stone
Are we setting the tutorial in our age, or will it be the Alagaesian time?

It's during the Golden Age, before the Fall.

Re: Setting things in stone
So we wouldnt really be able to have them read the book of Harry Potter, but yeah, maybe the kid could read a bit of the AL and have like a magical feeling course through them.

Re: Setting things in stone
I wasn't being serious. What I meant by "reading Harry Potter," was an example. Like, I was saying that they could read something about magic, dress up, and pretend to use it.

Re: Setting things in stone
In terms of the magic part of the tutorial, it will not actually involve magic, just like the other classes it will just use something to represent it. I mean seriously, all the little kids are playing with toys while little magician here is turning water into wine.
The magician part will either be what someone said earlier(The dress up)
Or a like they carry around red paper balls and pretend they are fire balls

Re: Setting things in stone
For magic, I believe we could make it so the kid TRIES to do something with magic, so it would be like an option to "light twigs on fire"...but it doesn't succeed...The kid tries multiple times. Then when you're older it would show that you had pursued it, and finally gotten it .

Re: Setting things in stone
But the things in the tutorial represent the skill; they don't show the kid doing it, or even trying to do it.
I still like my dress-up idea the best.

Re: Setting things in stone
For magician, I think that they should totally use the force and stop the ball from rolling away. But for Dragon Riders, We also need to draw a line between what a true dragon rider learns and where a rogue rider stops. I think that you would stay on Vroengard for training though.

Re: Setting things in stone
I agree about the drawing the line thing, and you're kidding about the force thing right? Lol.
I don't think they should stay at Vroengard for their entire training session. They surely want to do more than just train for a while.

Re: Setting things in stone
That's true, maybe at the point where your done your training in vroengard you get the choice between rogue or actual rider? Maybe they train in du weldenvarden after that, and rogue riders wouldnt be able to go there...(and yes, I was kidding )

Re: Setting things in stone
I keep checking this, but I do not know the point of this at all. I am still lost.
Re: Setting things in stone
`Me to Kinda. First this is a game so why would someone have to do something in real life? Which of course they won't accomplish anyway unless of course it's realistic.
Second, I don't mind the idea about vroengaurd.

What...are you talking about?
This is where the ideas implemented in the game go. All of them. Since most threads made on this forum that have to do with the game were vetoed, it's pretty messy, so this is where all of the ideas we are going to implement go, and it's where things we haven't discussed go, so Span can just look at this thread and see what all we need.
It is going to have to be a SPAM FREE thread, since it's going to be long enough already.

---Think of something productive---
So what are we going with for the magician part of the tutorial.
