Correct! If like 10 people ganged up on me, it would be too overwhelmed to do anything about it! Unless...will Mods get any special powers?

We get to change our level at will, and I think we can master all of the classes in seconds, but I'm not sure about the latter.

Re: Basic Weapons and armour
Anyways about the weapons ..If you are making dual weapons make CLAWS. It would be nice i think and dual weapons are not useless. Dual weapons could hit a bit more than single ones but would slow you down a bit.

Re: Basic Weapons and armour
It takes alot of concntraltion to weild duel weapons without either injuing yourself or getting killed from lack of defence. Most people think swinging teo swords is epic and powerful, but you have an extreme lack of defense. Also, duel weapons are built diferently than single weapons. A duel sword is going to be lighter. Lighter means thinner. Lighter and Thiner means less powerful of a hit.
Re: Basic Weapons and armour
Right you are. But say you were a master of dual wielded weapons? How would you match up against...say...a master of a single wield weapon?

Re: Basic Weapons and armour
I'm guessing if it was an axe/2 handed sword/something big, it would be slower, and two dual wielded weapons would be weaker but fast...
Vervada, by any chance do your claws have a special attack that lets you hit 4 times? Jk.

Re: Basic Weapons and armour
Hmmm, good one SODA. Duel(D) would have speed, but Single(S) would have control. It also depends on the the weapon S has. Its math time!
D vs. Axe = D
D vs Axe and Shield = S
D vs. Short Sword = D
D vs Short sword and shield = D
D vs Longsword and Shield = S
D vs Longsword = D
D vs Mace or hammer = D
D vs Mace or Hammer with sheild = D
D vs Spear = I have no idea
D vs Spear and shield = S
D vs Scimitar = D
D vs Scimitar with sheild = S
D vs. Claymore = S
D vs Bastard sword = D
D vs bastard sword and sheild = S
I will proably add more. I already have.
Eh, I think I covered it all, for now. Remeber this is my opinion. This is calculaited for both users using the same type of armour and weapons.

Re: Basic Weapons and armour
Nice MD! But um...how would you wield a Longsword with a shield? Seems cumbersome...if not counterproductive...to me.

Re: Basic Weapons and armour
Maybe, it slows down your longsword slash speed considerably?

Re: Basic Weapons and armour
Oh, forgot a few and edited them in.
Oh, I had this battle on IF.
The longsword is almost the same length as a two handed sword. However, it has room fo only one hand. There is a bit of extra room for a about half your second hand to fit. Basically, the pommel is in your palm.
A hand-and-a-half sword has room for half your hand to fit, the rest griping the pommel. Likewise, this is weighted slightly towards the front. It is designed as a lighter version of the two handed sword and is not typically weilded with a shield.
A two handed sword has room for two hands and is front heavy. It is designed to hack, and is less graceful. The hands are like a baseball bat, close together. It tyically has a bit more length, but there are plenty of variations.
Claymores and other big two handed swords have room for three or four hands on the grip. The are meant to be weilded with the hands far apart, not close together.
While there is several variations between each weapons because of regions, the longsword is generally a blade that is supposed to be weilded with one hand, but in a pinch, can be weilded with two. It is generally weilded with a shield. A two handed sword requires both hands on the sword. A hand-and-a-half sword is a bit clunky to weild with one hand and a shield, but can b done if the person has enough skill.
I think that answers your question. However, I want to add on more.
The bastard sword is roughly the length of a longsword and two handed sword. However, it is weighted so that it can easily be weilded with one hand and a sheild, though it acts like a two handed sword without a shield. Brisingr is esentially a basrtard sword.
The name comes from the fact that it almost had the length of a twohanded sword, but could be held with one or two hands without any difference. It really comes down to how they are weighted.

I think you could. Wouldn't be that uncomfortable.

@FE: But mastering the classes is one...knowing the controls for the mastered classes will be another thing...
That's both a good point and a problem. The problem is that if you master all of the skills, you're going to be using the buttons you have to type on to talk to use those skills. Maybe you have to press letter keys at once to activate a skill from a class, but that's a good point, and a big problem.

I think you would tie with them. A master of a single wield weapon and shield however will probably end in the victory of the latter.

I love my swords.
I love my swords.
Re: Basic Weapons and armour
Again, later swords were designed to not be wielded with a shield, they started skipping them.
Re: Basic Weapons and armour
Okay, this is a grand example of a longsword.
When longswords came out, the only other swords were falcutas and gladious style blades. These later developed into what you are thinking of, a light two handed word.
When longswords were developed, armour was not that good. Later, armour developed into vertual walking tanks. Shields were of less use. Also, most fighting happened in arenas in duels where shields were not needed.
On an actualy field of battle, the longsword was always paired with a shield.
