So I'm assuming the tutorial will be one of the things that will be included right away.

Yes it will. It is one of the things I want to get out of the way from the get go.

I had an idea for a tutorial while playing fallout 3.

Why not have it take place when you're younger? You're a little kid in your backyard or something and you're playing around with toys like a wooden stick, bandages, and other things that will represent the starter classes.
Stick would represent the warrior, Bandages healer, building blocks would be craftsman, etc. And depending on which toy you play with you become that class when you grow up.

It's an extreme rough draft but I think it lays out the basic concept I think?

Any other suggestions for a starter scene?

That sounds like a great idea! Maybe...if you like...choose warrior some bullies pick on you or something, and you fight them...Bandages, you find an injured ______(something) about to die, and you nurse it/him/her back to health in your care...The toys sound great too. When you're about to pick a toy, a short description on what you will expect.

Yea, I thought it would be pretty nice and realistic. After the tutorial it flashes to when you're older and you're an apprentice/novice in the class you choose as a child.

Will it be like Oblivion in the sense that that class you chose at the start will be more powerful than if you chose something else then started working on it, or will it just be the same? (Sorry if that is confusing.)

No, everyone has an equal chance of being a great warrior or any other class no matter when they start training.

I as well, was thinking about Oblivion, heh. As well, a chance to rewrite the memory, and change your class if you didn't like it...PvP would be great...a sparring arena, where it costs money to enter, but you dont lose xp when you die, and people can bet. You can do 2v2, etcetra...

Back to the topic at hand, yeah I think this is one of the best ideas, just a couple improvements and it'd be perfect. Cool

The only way I would have a system like that (The memory eraser thing) is if I put a level cap on the game and you're not able to learn everything in the game

Yeah, I guess...every time you say something, it sparks one of my ideas, which makes me say something, which sparks one of your ideas/makes you explain something, and its just chaining, heh.

Well, I think we should keep the starter scene a secret until people actually play it. It only makes sense i think.

for the tutorial i was thinking something like this.

You start off in the spine, with a hunting bow and a sword. A bear attacks, so you kill it. (Warrior training). You get hurt, so you have to heal yourself (Healer). Then, You can use the fur to make a vest (Crafting) and you can cook the meat, but the fire wont start so you say Brsingr. (Magic and Cooking.) You see a deer run by, and practice hunting shooting at it. On the way to wash it off, you come across a stream with fish and go fishing. (Fishing, obv.)

IDK that looks really terrible but im just suggesting things. Sad

Well, we could do toys, which would make you younger, or Tre's idea of hunting, which would put you in the 13's(possibly) to almost anything older.

I can almost garuntee that all the skills will not be covere. All we need are the basics of like fighting, magic, finding food, etc. crafting may be covered with smething liek smithing.

Thats exactly what I was thiinking...if you're a kid...you cant do a lot of stuff...therefore, i think teenager would be a good way to start out.
