Well Saphira looks pretty docile as well and we have seen times in the first three books where she is quite fierce. What I take away from Greenie's calm look is that he is to be a "good guy" character...I hope. I can't imagine the bad side gaining another dragon anyway.

Yep, Spahira is a cool character for sure..reminds me of my Weimaraner...I mean exactly! Seriously she talks to me, I can tell what she's thinking when she looks at me, lol. Of course it's hard to misunderstand her meaning when she's staring at me with her food dish or her water bowl in her mouth, lol.

But yeah, I think thats a lot of the reason I connected with the IC so much is that association between Saphira and Eragon being so similar to my dog and I. Of course my dog can't fly and she's big but not big enough for a saddle, lol.

This news made me bounce off the walls in delight and Vedrian to do a triple loop while breathing fire. I really was happy about it, and am preparing to fight for my own copy when it comes out, but then the world seemed a bit darker as time passed as what I feared has come. . .

I hope it's not true, but every link that I have going to it, just goes back to Shurtugal.com. I'm getting no further signs or clues that even hint that it still exists.

I know that IF was going to loose it's luster after the hype for Inheritance wore off, but C'mon! This is a really bad move. The book isn't out, more people are searching for answers or to discuss what's going to happen, and yet you close the forum site early?! And even without warning! Plus, IF could be used for so much more, and for far longer periods of time. CP's writing more than four books you know. . . Imagine what happened to everyone who lived on that site when they found they couldn't go to IF again. . .

Plus, now how are we going to spread the word about AO? IF was our main area of advertisement.

Personally, i am not attracted to men in kilts, nor do i ever PLAN to be! If for some reason i do, then its a clone...kill it and find me, because im most likely in grave danger...

@Bris: Well...I know a lot of people would be really upset, and that that site shouldnt shut down JUST yet, but you do have to admit...it does create a few problems in the "customer satisfaction" area...lol!

I had wondered what would happen to IF, but they had so much potential even after the books. What about the new section they made for the Future books? And the Forum tab is still up on Shurtugal, that is a good sign. What about all the writing I would of lost.

I doubt it is gone permanently. IF has many people on there cause of the community. That is good cause it means it doesn't depend entirely on everyone's interest in the closing series. IF will still be popular after the hype of Inheritance is gone.

But not for much longer...
I give it a year tops after the book before it begins to die down for good.

I don't know...there is talk of books five and six being prequals and all so IF may stay up and going.

Trust me, I'm business minded...I seriously doubt Paolini is going to drop the money train that is the Inheritence Cycle series. The "Cycle" episodes may end with Eragon's adventures but I doubt seriously if the world of Alagaesia and related stories will stop.

Obviously I don't know Paolini personally and maybe he will decide he has enough money but I doubt it. Also his creative side won't let him give up Alagaesia as it's his claim to fame and success. I just can't see him letting go of it, though try he may in an attempt to venture into more adult oriented stories or genres I imagine he'll always come full circle back to the IC in some way.

The wise man has spoken. I totally agree Alf, he definitely would want to milk this a bit longer. And I dont think hes that much of a jerk to just do it for the money, I think he's probably become attached to writing in the style of the IC. But who knows, he might just let go, like JK Rowling and the Harry Potter series.

Funny you say that Fam, cause she is rumored to be thinking about writing a new HP book.

If done right, the Cycle section can be disessembled into an Inheritance cycle Forum and a forum for other books. IF can turn into a CP forum.

Also, it can't be down permanently, they have the contest!

Right, well I don't think he's a jerk that just cares about money but everyone needs an income and cash flow, if he can't sustain what he's used to by doing other things...eventually money will "influence" a decision to go back to what he does best and what makes the money flow again.

They'll figure out, necessity is the mother of invention afterall and in this case money and activity for the forums is the necessity. I doubt Paolini will just leave Mike hanging out to dry. I'm sure they had this all figured out clear back when Brisingr came out. Paolini will keep enough stuff coming out to keep Mike's sites open and active...I'm sure of it. As sure as I was about book four being done a long time ago.

Also Random House owns CP so the money part goes for them as well....they aren't just about to let the money train that is CP and the IC sit at idle at the train station or decommision the train, lol.
