IF Q&A with Paolini

Anyone hear anything about any new Q&A's with Paolini lately? Mike said some time back that they would start being each and every month and I haven't seen one since way back last year.
The thread for #8 is still up on IF and it was started way back in 2010. Now I'm curious what happened.

Yeah I have been wondering when it's going to come a long.

I quit submitting to that. I know the answer. Something about I can't answer that, blah blah blah.

It's really quite rediculous that something like that cannot hold up. I remember back in October of 2009 when they were trying on getting the third one. They started in June 2009.

Paolini is busy. They need to scrap the monthly thing.

I have doubt about that, but they started it and they should have finished it. They were behind on the second one.

Yeah really, Mike promised after the reboot of IF that the WOULD happen EACH AND EVERY MONTH...haha, like that happened.
I PM'ed Mike about it but I never see him on the site anymore and after our last little chat I doubt he'll reply, lol.

Finally heard back from Mike over at IF.

Mike: "There likely won't be one for another month or two as both Christopher and I are extraordinarily busy and the Q&As take a lot of work, effort, and time to coordinate."

So there we have it.

Yeah, I figured that, I think it was a bad idea to start another site as that made him even more busy. I am okay with there being no Q&A's as long as CP is working on book 4.

Psh, book four has been done for a year now I bet.

Well, at least the first draft. But then the editing, and they probably have started printing. What happened to Tolkien? He wrote teh lord of the rings and they were published 6 months apart. He had a full time teaching job and had to write it still.

There's no way I believe that Paolini hasn't finished the book yet, thats just nonsense. If he hasn't he is the slowest and dumbest writer in history. Jeeze, he divided the last book into two because of the length and printing limitations for page content, surely he had an outline already in hand when he started book 3 and divided it. Meaning, most of book four was already outlined when book 3 Brisingr was printed. How retarded would Paolini have to be to take this long to finish writing book 4 considering that.

I'd say it's already through the editing process and ready for print, likely they are trying to maximize anticipation for marketing purpose's. I find that pretty detestable but thats the way it works.

It has to be done.For the past ever he has said "he could see the light at the end of the tunnel" and that it shouldn't be to long before it was done.It has to be for marketing purposes like you said but it does make me anticipate it,it just makes me madder that he is holding the book back instead of putting it out.

Yep, I think they hit the climax of that play quite a while ago and now they are just losing fans because of it. I think it'll hurt their sales more than help them. For one thing, we're all getting older and many will completely grow out of their interest. Most people don't hold on to their immature love of fantasy and sci-fi like I do into their 30's for pete sake.

I tell you he did a diservice to himself and the IC in saying that he was going to end the series with books 3 and then 4. If they wanted to keep milking the fans for money they should have just carried it on and on like HP. Bad strategy IMHO.

Ya they killed themselves with it I know several people from forums that have said that they don't even want to read it anymore because of the reason you said which is they outgrown it.I mean I'm gonna read the books because I loved the books but he killed most of my anticipation a long time ago.

Same here, I will read it, but I don't care much anymore. He has just taken so long to release it. I should not have to wait three years for a book. All there doing is ticking me off and a bunch of other people as well.

Yeah, but they waited to long. The hype has died down. Everyone is sick of waiting and forgetting it.
