can you go fishing, can you build a boat and sail it, can you have ship battles, can you sail into the boars eye,can you battle sea dragons.please reply!

Eventually, we will probably add some things like that to the game. We plan on having all sorts of upgrades as time passes. Mini games and such just to give the game more depth and character. However, we're mostly interested in getting a playable version up to begin with at the present so few things like the ones you mentioned will be in the original "starter" version.

I think fishing needs to happen before the game starts. Only reason is for a good food source so we can heal ourselves. Of course, that also requires a cooking skill, stoves, or fire. Fire wuld require a wood cutting and firemaking skill. But the firemaking and woodcutting skills could hold off, as long as we have stoves.

I think fishing would be interesting. It's kind of silly to have it on online games since it's so boring even in real life. Maybe hunting would be an option though, such as bunnies and baby deer. And Koalas.

In real life, to fish, requires Patience and Skill, Neither of which Paperclip here seems to Possess...lol

Hahaha, nice...hunting always gets a bad rapp, lol, few if any people shoot or hunt baby animals and Koalas taste like crap!
Seriously though, fishing and hunting might make fun mini-games for like a village fishing contest for prizes like otherwise unobtainable items but it isn't needed to have food, you can just have food as a purchased supply and get around having to hunt for it catch fish for it. Or you can leech energy from your surroundings if you're skilled enough.

While Fishing is boring in games (not in real life), it is an intricate part of most games. Fishing and Cooking are great skills to have because; 1: you get food and 2: you can make money by selling it to those who need it.

The higher level fishing, the better, more healing fish you can catch. though, the high levels generally take longer to catch, in the end it is worth it wihen you bringin the cash, or get saved by your higher healing food.

Better healing food means you have to carry less.carry less food, more room for spoils while training or killing beasts for certain items.

High Levels also require better healing food.

Cooking goes right along with that. Better cooking, better healing food. Higher cooking means you can cook higher level fish.


Order perks could also be implimented. you could fish for sharks or something on the shores (or a fishing peir) of Vroenguard. These could be order only fishing items. Now yes, you could sell them, but why would you give your enemies a more even playing field. Well, the amount of cash you would get for that fish.

Well, that is my take on things. To sum it up, i think fishing and cooking should be part of the game when it starts. As for hunting, yeah, it could be done. Trapping would be a better option, except it it was a hunting quest, or mini-game.

I wouldn't mind fishing and hunting to be honest. I highly doubt Span will include them right when AO comes out, after more people join and people start to get the hang of things, then we'll be adding more advanced things in. Fishing/Hunting would be good to gain energy and to gain you money as long as it doesn't take a long time.

I'm going to add fishing, yes it will be boring but if you want to survive longer than a few hours(days in game) then you better eat

Yep. Most have played it, plus, RS covers the basics. They have everything you need to survive and all. That wuld be why.

I'm just making the game more realistic. I don't want it to be like WoW where you can run across the world without drinking a sip of water. I want there to be a survival factor in your gameplay

Fishing in RS sucked. Just my opinion. Took too long, and you didnt sell for much until like level 80. If it was just a bit faster here, id love it.

Durza raised a good question. There are plenty of other ways to die than being killed by a person, so will you lose your items if killed by one of those many ways?

Yes that is a good question. I have another, not as good one. Will we need food/water/leeching energy to live and without it we die, or is it like RS where you dont have to have it but its there to heal you? Span already said he didnt want it like WoW so im just wondering to clarify things for me.

Judging by what Spaniard said, I'd say you need it to live, because he said he doesn't want it like WoW where you don't have to take a sip of water at all to live.

Correct, you need food and water to survive, as well as sleep. That's a big reason why were including fishing right when the game comes out.

Sleep? Well as a shade, when I need sleep, I'll just teleport to my home. No sleeping on the ground for me!

Im very experienced in fishing here got 99 fishing in rs . Anyways about the surviving factor just dont make it like :
Playing 10min. Died. And than I'm like Wth just happened. Someone tells me i need to eat every 10min. Coz that would kinda suck.
But if u mean it like: I'm walking with my char. On my way to a city. I see she gets hungry, I stop in a taverna and get some food/ make a fire place and get cookin'.
