Format:- Conspiracy unraveling & capture quest.
Difficulty:- Master.
Overview:- The elves living in Du Weldenvarden have reported some sightings of an unknown apparition - like thing moving around the forest with great speed. The reports received by King Evandar show that there's only a day's difference between the sending date of the reports, but they're all from different cities (near Ellesmera, Silthrim, Nadindel, Osilon & even Gil'ead). The reports also say that the elves who saw the apparitions also felt a massive drain of energy from the trees. King Evandar concludes that there is more than just one of these apparitions & that they require enormous amounts of energy for sustenance. He sends out his strongest mages to investigate on the matter. Two weeks later another group of mages sent out by the king recover the bodies of the elves of the first group, saying that there was the evidence of powerful magic, most probably used to conceal the bodies of the elves, around the place where they were found (all of the parts above can be a flashback or something). King Evandar becomes more worried & sends out requests to all people of Alagaesia to track down the menace that is stalking the forest. When you come to know about the request, you ask the elves in your locality to take you to Ellesmera. On reaching there, King Evandar tells you that he's heard a lot about you, gives the details of the quest based on the reports he receives & asks you if you accept. If you do, you will be given the command of a group of 15 elves & taken to the place where the bodies of the elves were found. After exploring the forest for some time you come across a fragment of black cloth with a strange symbol woven into it with gold thread. When you show the elves the cloth, the oldest one blanches & tells you that around 1500 years ago, there was an order of elves who lived by their own rules & used to terrorize & massacre the normal elves. They were hunted down by Anurin & his strongest Riders & were thought to be finally eradicated, until now.....
The objective is to capture these elves & bring them back to the king, alive. These elves are extremely powerful in magic (equal or maybe greater than some of the present NPC Riders in the Order), they can summon spirits, they control the minds of many creatures living in the forest (these creatures attack on sight but should NOT BE KILLED, only their mental influence has to be nullified, & they may have clues in their mind about the whereabouts & plans of the terrorist elves), they have help from other NPCs like some Shades, assassins, etc. & a spy who is very close to King Evandar, so they know you're coming for them. Each of these elves will be encountered one at a time, & once you've overwhelmed the elf, you can collect any gemstones he might have (but they won't have more than one, if they do). There are 5 (not confirmed, can suggest increase in number but not decrease) elves in all, & the apparitions spotted (you'll learn later in the quest) was actually some kind of dark magic used by the terrorist elves in which the spirits they might have summoned is taken control of & trapped in a corpse. The apparitions can cause no harm to you, but when near you, it'll assume the form of a terrorist elf or an NPC Shade, assassin, etc. (you have to find out a way to differentiate between the 'apparitions' & the actual guys). You'll also learn more & more about the conspiracy as you completely break the mind of each elf, & after you capture the last elf you realize that the elves were planning to assassinate King Evandar, King Hrothgar (or his predecessor, whatever), King Angrenost (or whoever was the king of the Broddring kingdom) & all their nobles, along with Vrael, to establish a single government under their command (basically, dictatorship over all the three races). They had also planned to drain the energy of all the trees of Du Weldenvarden & seize control of all the Eldunarya from the Riders (you know, energy reservoir to use against rebels once their rule is established).
Rewards:- 5000 crowns (can suggest change in price), a diamond ring from King Evandar (which can hold as much energy as Brom's ring), & the title of Elf - Friend. As extra rewards, you can keep all the gemstones you collected from the elves & gain possession of a set of clothes (tunic, leggings & cap padded with mail) which will drain energy from the surroundings when equipped to make you invisible & layer you with wards against a wide range of physical & magical attacks (suggest changes if not suitable).

Dificulty:Master
Objective/Overview: Recapture a kidnapped Princess or high noble's daughter of Teirm
Step By Step:First you must ask around town if somebody had seen the three men or over heard their discussions. Lucky one man saw them at this pub and the barkeep happens to have over hear something about sailing to Kuasta and that he heard the name Eagle Wing which you assume is their ship. So now you have to get a boat because sailing is the fastest way to Kuasta. So you talk to the Lord or High Noble and he agrees to pay for a small fast boat.(You can add something about you having to find a worthy vessel but its not entirely necessary.) So you have your supplies and so you set sail.(If you would like to you could put in a little mini game where you have to maneuverer you vessel around rocks and catch wind in your sails to go faster, but it isn't necessary.) You arrive at Kuasta to see one man tethering the boat "Eagle Wing" (just a name that came to me) to the dock. So you go up to the man and ask him where he came from. He glares at you menacingly, but proceeds to answer "Well my fellow sailor I", suddenly he attacks with his fist. (He being a strong opponent but not very skilled hits very hard but not very often) Then you will gain the advantage when you deplete his hp and ask him where they were taking the princess/Noble's daughter he tells you they were taking her to a small cottage off in the wood not 10 miles south of Kuasta. Then as you can not kill the man in cold blood and can not have him follow you hand him to the guards and tell them of his crimes. You hurriedly continue on your way after the other two. (Then could play short clip of one of them waiting in the brush for the man tethering the boat to the docks.) Then you notice three sets of tracks and you notice the set in the middle appear to be being dragged along a bit. As you stop to study the tracks the man in the bush attacks with a short relatively weak-medium strength bow. (since he is of great skill he almost never misses but the bow isn't strong enough to pierce your armor with a lot of power) You dispatch him and continue on your way when you spot the cottage with the man out front. He is holding a dagger to the Hostages throat. Then the following could go a bit like this You: Let me explain. Man: There is nothing to explain your trying to kidnap what I've rightfully stolen. You: Perhaps an arrangement can be reached? Man: There will be no arrangement! You: Well if there can be no arrangement then we are at an impasse. Man: I'm afraid so I can't compete with you physically and you are no match for my brains. You: Your that smart? Man: Well I don't figure I have to be to smart to beat the likes of you. You: In that case, I challenge you to a battle of wits. Man: For the princess? You nod. Man: I accept! You: Good then we will ask each other one riddle the person who isn't befuddle loses. (I can't think of any riddles) After you befuddle him he quickly attacks you. (He being a very difficult opponent being strong and very skilled) Then you go back to town with the hostage and go back to Teirm and hand her over to her father.
Reward:Large amount of INT and STR exp and the ability to sail from coastal city to coastal city. Large amount of Crowns and/or a very nice weapon of some sorts. (maybe a rapier??)

- Difficulty: Master/Rider Only
Format: Conspiracy/Rebellion Dismantling
Overview: A powerful group is emerging, straight from the depths of an old and bloodied kingdom. Everyone around you are suspects. You dont know who you can trust, save your dragon. It is your job to uncover this group, and expose them, without being found out. Or killed.
Step by step:
One night in Dras'Leona, you decide to stop by a local tavern. After seating yourself at the counter and ordering some mead, you notice a pair of men engaged in an increasingly loud argument in the corner of the tavern. After a while, you turn back to your drink, when you hear a scuffle behind you. You turn around, and see one of the men face-down on the table, dead from a stab wound to his chest, and the other fleeing out the pub, sword in hand. You abandon your drink and pursue the man down the streets of Dras'Leona. After he takes a wrong turn, and ends up at a dead end, he draws his sword and charges at you. He is a formidable opponent, and is at a high level of swordsmanship. However, you eventually defeat him, and are about to lop off his head, when he begs for mercy, offering information. Intrigued, you listen to him as he weaves a tale of deceit and treachery.
The man is part of a group called Vendetta. They claim to be the distant relatives of King Palancar. They seek revenge for his imprisonment in Palancar Valley, and will stop at nothing to reach their goal, the destruction of all of Alagaesia. He pulls down his tunic, and shows you a small black and red tattoo, a flaming V, just under his sternum. He says the man he was arguing with was an arms dealer, who was supplying the group with weapons. The arms dealer was meeting with the man to discuss business, when the dealer let drop that his prices were going up three-fold. The two men quickly got into an argument, and the man killed the dealer. The man proceeds to tell you that the group is large, with thousands of members all around Alagaesia. The man starts to laugh, and tells you that anyone could be a member. Anyone. "And we even have a member in your Order, Rider, so think carefully about who you share this with!" he cackles. Disturbed, you quickly behead him and the laughing stops.
Pondering the dilemma, you walk back to the tavern, and notice the dealer who was killed was wearing clothing in the style of a familiar town. You forget which, but can narrow down the choices. You think it is from either Illeria, Teirm, or Ceunon. Knowing from where is important, because you can then search for the dealer's workshop, and interview any employees of his. You decide to visit each city. You check Illeria first, since it is nearest to Dras'Leona, and you know its not there. You next check Teirm, and realize it is also not there. So you travel to Ceunon to search for the workshop. You find the workshop near the middle of the city. After interviewing the employees, you realize that the dealer was acting of his own accord and rarely confided in his employees who their client was. However, they mentioned a shipment that just left for Teirm. So you thank them, and travel south to Teirm. When you reach Teirm, you find a shipment being unloaded from a large boat. You realize this is the weapons shipment, and follow it slowly to the warehouse it will be stored in. You bunk near there for the night, then follow it out the city gates and on the road to Illeria. You keep a safe distance, following behind the caravan until you reach the large city. You continue to follow the crates of weapons, until they are dropped off at a local warehouse. Again, you decide to bunk in a nearby tavern for the night. However, you sleep in, and wake to find the warehouse empty. You talk to some civilians and find out the shipment was picked up by a local merchant. You get directions to his shop, and find the man, seated behind his counter. You ask to see his wares, and he shows you a few meager knives and daggers. As he bends over to reach for an item, you notice a small red and black tattoo under his sternum. Without thinking, you draw your weapon and point it at him. He gulps, and slowly backs away. Quick as a flash, he calls to two hulking men with broadswords, who you must fight and kill. You find the merchant in the back, armed with a sword and dagger. You must also fight and extract information from the merchant. He tells you nothing, and you kill him.
After you get outside, you decide to go to the Order with this. So you travel to their headquartes, and fill in Vrael on the past happenings. One of the relatively new riders hears you and gives a quizzical look. Vrael agrees that this is disturbing, and commisions you with finding the truth. You walk outside, and are suddenly attacked by the new rider. He is of very formidable skill, and defeating him is tough. After you finish him off, you notice the same red and black V under his sternum. You are now worried, and decide to finish this once and for all. You find as many people as you can, and round them all up. You tell them of Vendetta, and tell them to spread the word, and be ready to defend themselves. The crowd starts murmuring and bustling about, finding someone to tell the news to. Suddenly, about 50 members from the crowd charge you. You must fend off these civilians, who are of good skill, and escape with your life. You now have no doubt about Vendetta, and hurry back to let Vrael know. He orders all riders to immediately set out and hunt down all members of this group. As you start to prepare, he tells you to stay behind, get some rest, and guard the fort. You accept graciously, and climb up to your quarters for sleep. After you wake up, you find Vrael at your bedside, and he explains how Vendetta has been crushed, and most Riders are busy ferreting out individual members. He congratulates you on finding this group, and gives personal thanks for averting a disaster.
Rewards: 5000 crowns, Attack XP, Defense XP, a Medal inscribed with a flaming V, and valuable items, like potions.
BTW: 500th post!!!! And what a post to have it on!

Wow Fam, that's AWESOME!! We don't have other quests yet, but yours is, in my opinion, already a winner (at least in the master category if not the overall one). Good luck for your Beta spot!!

Difficulty: Knight
Objective/Overview: Get a replacement for a old master
Step by step: You step into a armory and see a group of young requited soldiers. You go and talk to the oldest one and he tells you that their blade master is retiring and needs a replacement. You head over to the blade master who introduces himself as Chareon. You get into a conversation and he asks you if you would like to be the new blade master. If you accept then you must challenge him(is nigh but unbeatable only high levels can possibly beat him). If you manage to win then quest ends. But if you lose or decline he says “well seems as if you aren’t the one who is going to replace me. But will you go search the land for a swordsman as skilled as I?” You hesitate but answer “Yes”. This leads all over the place (could be same person for every one or it could be computer generated at random). You try many potential candidates for he position but only one beats you. But as you try to return to the blade master the road is closed off by a mudslide blocking the road. You must find a way around into dense wilderness filled with high level creatures. You and you part time companion must fight your way through to the road and hurry to the blade master. There he tests the swordsman and it ends in a draw. He says ”thank you my friend I am forever in your gratitude.
Rewards: A large amount of crowns, a rare/valuable saber, and a good amount of dexterity

Re: Second Quest Contest
Not bad, trillionblades. We haven't seen quests like this in the old thread, keep it up. You could have added a bit more to the quest, though. Like for example you could have made the person first fight the group of soldiers, & when he/she wins against them, that blade master. You could have made it a bit more dramatic at the end part, on that 'flight back' to the blade master, like the person & the 'part - time companion' coming across a small group of thieves or something. Just a few thoughts. On the whole, a good one.
Unfortunately I have to study for - ugh - a math exam, so hopefully I'll put in my first quest on Monday.

Bummer, I have my math exam next Monday, but have exams on the last two days of the week. Anyways, what are the details for the Admin quest contest? I'm thinking of putting in a "squire" quest. (actually I've already decided I'm gonna)

I think the mods already have Beta spots unless I'm mistaken. I know most do, not sure about the ones added last as forum mods though. I'd wager a guess and say yes though.

Re: Second Quest Contest
Well, ultimately, it's up to Span...as with everything so as far as I know you are included as a Beta tester. I can't remember at this point who he has approved and who he hasn't but I'm reasonbly sure that you were part of the original group that had a testing spot. I think you were late enough that you aren't a game mod though. I had all that info saved on my old PC but it was one of the many files I didn't back up so I'm working off personal memory at this point.

Re: Second Quest Contest
All right!! Finally!! I got my first quest ready. Or I should rather say Part 1 of the quest ready. Seeing that I'm getting ahead of myself, let me explain: the two quests I'll be submitting here is actually a single quest split into two (because the plot line I've thought out would become too long if it wasn't & for effect ). Right, here's the first one:-
Part 1:- *DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE A SEVERE EYE - STRAIN* *IF NOT, THEN YOU CAN *
Was the rewards part a bit too much?? Anyway, comment all!! I'll submit my 2nd quest after thinking it out better (which should take a couple of days or so). There's one loose end that I didn't tie up by the end of this quest. Anyone who finds it out will get an idea about the kind of quest I'll be making in the 2nd 'installment' (or not ).
Part 1:- *DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE A SEVERE EYE - STRAIN* *IF NOT, THEN YOU CAN *
- Spoiler:
- Difficulty:- Knight.
Objective:- Find out what happened to one of the lords from Dras Leona.
Overview:- A lord from Dras Leona has suddenly disappeared overnight from his room in the palace. His wife lodged a request letter to the ruler of Dras Leona, Freyr Frimannsson (the name is actually an Icelandic name I got off the Net & modified, so don't razz me. And apologies to any Icelandic person here who read this), to send out a search party for him, since he is not the type to get up & just walk out of his home. Freyr agrees & sends out a search party to find out what happen to him. Eventually the search party reach a farm a league & a half away from the city. There they question the farmer whether he's seen anything suspicious lately & the farmer replies no. After some time when the farmer then goes out to deepen the furrows he had made in his field he notices a strange dark cloth, about 5 & 1/2 feet long & 2 feet wide, spread in a corner of the field, which he was sure that he hadn't seen it the previous evening. He goes to the cloth & rips it off. He discovers bones, which were stained on the lower side due to the mud, but was quite lustrous on the top side, & still had portions of flesh clung to them. He concludes that obviously they were human bones, that these bones have been recently left there, & someone was trying to defame him, an honest farmer, by putting a heap of fresh bones in his field. He makes up his mind & goes after the search party, & then tells them what he just discovered. A magician from that party tutors him to tell the words, "I swear that I am telling the truth", in the AL. He agrees & gives the oath to prove his honesty. The search party then go back to the palace & tell Freyr what they learnt. Freyr gets worried & sends an urgent report to King Angrenost, who becomes angry on receiving it, since that man was a trusted noble & a good friend to him. He sends out notices to all the cities, towns & villages about capturing/killing the person responsible for the noble's death.
Step - by - step:- Once you go to Ilirea & accept the quest, King Angrenost himself gives you command over 5 of his best warriors & one of his elite magicians [**if you are a mage, then you get command over 6 warriors & no mage**] {**if you're a Rider, then you go alone**}. You go to the farm & question the farmer who discovered the bones. He tells you where he found them & gives you the black cloth he found with them. Examining the cloth, you discover that there is a strange symbol stitched in silver thread, that does not match any symbol of any standard in existence. Hiding the symbol from your accomplices (because you want to further investigate this yourself), you go out & search the surrounding area for any pair of footprints or some other clue of value. Eventually you find two pairs of footprints in a nearby wood, faint ones, which seemed to be leading away from the direction of the farm you just visited. Excited, you follow the footprints & come to a point where the footprints disappear, but you notice that two of the trees have scraps of black cloth on them, leading to high branches, thick enough to easily hold a heavy person on it. You conclude that the pair (whoever they are) have jumped onto the trees to avoid detection. Following the scraps of cloth, you eventually reach a place where there is a break in the canopy & that directly below it are long gouges in the soil. You conclude that either dragons or Lethrblaka have landed here, but since no dragon would consent to be bonded to a cold - hearted murderer, you decide that Lethrblaka have landed there & that a pair of Ra'zac have murdered that lord. Angry that they had escaped you, you ask the magician to scry the king & then you tell him about his discoveries. King Angrenost then requests you to find those Ra'zac & kill or capture them. Your magician [**or you**] put wards against melee attacks on each person of the remaining group. {**in the case of Riders, you fly around the area & after a painstaking search, you notice a medium - sized break in the trees & head towards it to search from the ground. After a few moments of searching around, you discover the scraps of cloth caught in the trees, & as you return to the small clearing, you see the gouges on the ground. You come to the same conclusion & report the events to King Angrenost. He gives you the same orders.**} (This search is not as easy as it sounds, you will have to move around slowly & carefully, & wild animals, especially bears, attack you randomly).
You & your team go out far away from Dras Leona, around 5 leagues away, & are about to set camp in the wilderness, since it's nearly dark. Just then you notice a strange shadow - like veil near the horizon, moving quickly towards a distant group of hills. A few moments later, you & your team hear a distinct, eerie screech that makes your hair stand on end. You curse & immediately saddle up to chase the thing which you are sure of is a Lethrblaka. Eventually you reach the hills & naturally, ignoring your better instincts, you explore. You find a cave that is so utterly dark, that if you create a light, you will blind yourself. As you go in further, suddenly, your magician [**or you**] gives out an involuntary groan as a significant amount of energy is drained from their body as the wards around you & your group blocked a couple of swords thrown at you. You immediately run out of the cave with your group, & some metres behind them a group of Ra'zac, following you. You turn around & demand why they had killed the noble, but they just click their beaks together & attack you. {**same thing happens if you're a Rider**}.
Now, the fight scene can be in three ways:- 1) You could be standing aside trying to cast spells on the Ra'zac while your team fights them, 2) You & your team fights them while your magician stands aside & tries to cast spells on them or 3) You alone are simultaneously fighting them & trying to cast spells on them. Anyway, let's get back:- While fighting them, you notice that one of the Ra'zac is wearing a cape, similar to a general's. During the fight, suddenly the one with the cape shrieks, "I am the one who killed your lord from Drasss Leona, human. We feasted on him after that!! He was quite tasssty. We will feassst on you as well!!". After you defeat them (both weapons & magic is used, you (whether Rider or mage) or your magician have to find the correct spell to hinder the Ra'zac, since they have about 3/4th the speed & strength of elves), more Ra'zac, around 10 of them, begin to chase you. To make matters better (or rather, worse), four Lethrblaka also come to avenge the deaths of the Ra'zac. Then there is only one thing you can do: GUN FOR YOUR WIVES!! I mean RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!! (no offense, Alf, couldn't resist ). The chase sequence (you're on horse - back or dragon - back, depends) will be kind of difficult, seeing as the Lethrblaka randomly dive at you while the Ra'zac shoot arrows coated with Seithr Oil at you from their backs. You can retaliate only by shooting arrows at them or by using magic (if you can, that is). Oh, & I almost forgot to mention that the Ra'zac you fight back at the cave will not only have near elven speed & strength, their blades will also be immune to wards.
Rewards:- 2500 crowns on returning back to Dras Leona alive for killing the Ra'zac (is that too less??), a couple of half - inch long rubies (if you're a mage or Rider) OR a set of armor that has pretty powerful wards against projectiles (that take energy from you, obviously) (that is if you're a warrior, Riders won't get this, so no cheating), & the sword of the Ra'zac with the cape, which also has an onyx set into the pommel, containing a massive amount of energy. Energy can only be added to the onyx in the sword, not used by you, because the onyx has a spell on it that prevents it. Another spell on it prevents the Seithr Oil completely coated on the blade of the sword from getting washed away, so virtually, you get a sword which is almost flowing with Seithr Oil.
