Build a Civ Empty Build a Civ

For those of you who have played either version of Build-A Civ, this is very similar. I am barrowing FogofNature’s rules, but adding a few to fit the changes I am making. This is less chaotic than build a civ on here. This allows you to see the other civ's strength.

You start with a handful (2-20) iliterate, primative people (humans) who live in caves and from there you can play god and say they discovered how to make fire or build houses or whatever, just be sure to explain how they did it.
here's the rules:
1. You can't start with some all powerful civilization from the word go.
2. Once your civilization has grown to sufficiant size you can make peac/war with other civs
3. Populations can grow at a reasonable rate. Do not forget old age, desease and accidental deaths in your calculations.
5. Posts move up to 5 year. Waring Civ's, their years freeze.

Rules of engagement(acts of war)
1. Your civ has the right to reject offers of peace without causing a war so long as it is done peacefully
2. You can obliterate a civ but you have to leave them with at least 1 man and 1 woman so they can start over
3. You can outright attack a civ if they have given no reason to do so, just leave them with something to build from.

Rules of religion
1 you can create a religion for your civ
2. You have to explain why they worship such deities in the first place
3. If you are at war you are allowed to force your religion among your conquests.

10 males and 10 females awake in caves. They find berries outside and eat them.

The birds annoy them with their screeching, so a man picks up a stone and chucks it at a bird. He misses miserably, but the men begin to get good at throwing stones. One of the stones hits another rock, creating a spark. They do this again, after they gather grass and dried twigs the sparks catch the grass on fire, after over an hour of trying, they finally get it.

With fire, meat is cooked when the men finally get good enough at throwing stones to kill small animals. Sharp stones are used to skin the animals, which are skewered on sticks and held over the fire.

Just slight differences. This has a better base. That is all.

The first shelters of wood are made out of broken Branches. Soon, dirt is added making small mounds.

Many kids are born, quite a few die. The men use stones to keep away annoying birds.

All wake up and go out to explore their environment.Man picks up rock and walks to show others.He falls and hits the rock on another creating a spark that ignites a patch of grass.He discovers fire but in the process burns his hand.

The women keep getting pregnant and giving birth. Several more die.

The houses get bigger and better. The men become skilled at throwing stones and begin to Wrestle for mates.

Can we trade things?Like say I find gold and someone else has clothes.Could we trade them?

Women have several kids but a couple of the men have died while hunting when they were attacked by bears.Men find sharps sticks and throw them at animals.After awhile they get very accurate with the sticks and start using them as hunting weapons.

Also, take advancements slowly. The slower the better.

Will our civilizations find each other by walking through the woods or what?I mean of course they have to find each other for alliances or war.

Men have gotten very good with sharp sticks and have discovered vines that are stretchy.They tie the vines to flexible wood and put the sharp sticks on the string pull it back and let go.The stick flies through the air and sticks in a tree.They discovered bow and arrows.Man finds sharp rocks that cut skin when stepped on.They tie rocks onto sticks and make better arrows.They use these to hunt.

Fire is discovered when a man throws a rock and it hits another rock, creating sparks. They find the grass burned and take more grass and after many tries, get a fire going. The fire goes out quickly, as the grass is burned. They get more, larger branches and such, and start a new fire, this time keeping it going forever.

Basic stone hand tools are developed after they discover stones have sharp edges when broken.

Clay is found on the riverbank. It hold's its form well, so they begin to use it for bowls. However, when it gets wet, it breaks apart.

The houses are made bigger, more kids are born. The first generation of kids make kids.

Holy jeez, were goin fast!

Many Children are born (from last post) and only the weakest die because there are good conditions. Men explore around and find animals. The kill one and play with it. Have more children.

The people have discovered that their forests are teaming with animals. Their instincts tell them that the meat will be good, and they discover sharp rocks make good weapons. They use these weapons to hunt, and bring down much game. But the meat is not good raw. They fry it over hot rocks on summer days, but in winter, they must eat it raw. Their shelters are simple mud huts, with thatched leave roofs.

The Normans awake in there recently settled new homeland and look out over the sea from their high cave a number of settlers set out in search of food, one of the woman stumpled upon a fresh water river not far from there new home others found large berry bushes. One young man wandered down to the water and began to watch ducks paddling through in search of food curios about how such a creature could stay above the waterline (foreshadowing ftw?) a group deep in the woods began to find basic weapons such as wooden sticks to use as clubs and stones to throw

Out of curiosity, the men taste the meat and find that it is not bad. They start to live in small rock huts. Fire is discovered when a man is trying to break a rock on another rock and sparks fly out

The children are growing quickly, soon they will be ready for their own children, and starting a family. The hunters have discovered they can throw large sticks with sharp rocks tied to the stick to take down bigger game. The men have finally discovered fire, when a man misses the rabbit he is hunting with a rock, and the rock grazes another, causing sparks to light dry grass on fire. The men have also discovered a strange shiny rock in one of their many caves, and do not know what to do with it. They see much of it, and take as many rocks as possible.

We continue improving stone tools. A clay bowl is discovered to be harder when it sat next the fire all day. We begin to bake our clay pots and bowls, they become hard and no longer melt when wet.

A man sits and observes fish and how they like to hide. He makes and bakes a pot. He then sets it on the bottom of the river and comes back the next day. he pulls it up and a fish is in there. Fishing is developed.

Wheat is discovered, and we bring it back. We take the seeds and plant them due to observation of other seeds growing.

We begin to hunt meat. It starts with small animals we can kill with stones, they the first spear is made. The meat is cold and slimy, so a women heats it next to the fire. It is discovered to be good, and raw tastes bad (A man tried it raw).

The third generation has begun. More children are being born, and the small village is growing. The people have discovered that logs are stronger than mud, and use logs for houses.
EDITED DUE TO MY GUYS BEING TOO SMART
A small child has also stumbled upon the ocean, teeming with wildlife. The water doesnt taste good though, and they are not able to catch the many fish that live in the sea.
