Classes Layout
Alrighty, I finally had time to make a basic layout of the how the classes will generally look in the game. And here it is(I'll explain it under the pic)
Okedokey.... As you can see I simplified the classes. The "Advanced Classes were cut down, each "Starter Class" is going to be basically seperated into two parts, each having to do with one of the Advanced classes from before. Also, the Hybrid "Classes" won't be much of a class anymore, more like a few skills that the two original classes helped make.
So, as an example: Warrior. The Warrior has two sides: Knight, and Beserker. The Knight's side focuses on using Shields, and having a large chunk of health to take lots of damage(A tank essentially), while the Beserker is the side that uses Strength and heavy weapons to dish out as much damage as it can without much regard to its health. So basically when you pick a class you have two paths to take. And, of course, you can, eventually, take both paths as well as the paths of other classes when you unlock them. (Unlocking Hybrid Skills)
**Reason Behind the Class Cut: I noticed that most of the advanced classes were pretty similar or not very necessary. So I thought to myself "Which classes would be both easiest to make and have the most in common with the other advanced classes of its kind. Thus the choices.
I know I still have a lot of more explaining to do, so if there is something you don't get or disagree with than please feel free to speak up

Re: Classes Layout
Well...a few things I'm not happy about:
1. You're too smart
2. I don't have to worry about this problem anymore and I like to worry.
3. Lol
4. Nice job
Haha, JK, thats really nice and I like it...NICE JOB!
Don't really have any questions at all, that seems as straight forward as it could be and thats what I like about it most, theres not a whole bunch of unnecissary characters to complicate things yet there should be enough for everyone to chose something they like.
Oh wait, okay, one question comes to mind now that I think of it: What about archers? Is Archery going to be a skill learned (by one of the classes or all) or will it be something only like an assassin will have or something?

Re: Classes Layout
Thanks lol
I was looking over our old admin topics and forgot I was wanted to make this
Anyways, Beast Master will have the Archer skills since it'll be a kind of cover fire and support for your pet when it goes out to do that thing it does

Re: Classes Layout
The only thing I really need to/get help with, is making all the skills and perks for each class. As well as the skills the Hybrids are going to get

Re: Classes Layout
Yeah, we were all supposed to be working on that weren't we?
Are there any guidelines you can give us to get us started.
I mean like a certain number of things you want each character to have. Say...I dunno...5 skills each, three special skill each yadda yadda yadda and so on and so forth. Maybe it's just me but I think that would help us develop them and keep them sort of balanced.

Re: Classes Layout
I would have to say about 10-15 skills/perks in total for each class, and only like 3 or 4 for the Hybrids.
Just pick one and do half and half basically

Re: Classes Layout
Sweet. I hope to have my classes worked out then speedily. Heck, I got free time now, I can do it easily enough. I picked warrior, so yeah, I shall jump on it.
Re: Classes Layout
And another point, it cuts down on class specific weapons, skills and armour, making the game faster to produce.
Re: Classes Layout
Ohhh, nice job Span. I really like this. It makes a lot of sense and you've done a decent job of explaining it already. I expect we can get started on the classes then...

Re: Classes Layout
Ya that's possible. Also, what about Tailors, Docters, and all the other classes that got cut. Will they be eliminated or...

Re: Classes Layout
Architect is a type of Craftsmen skill, I think, and as is a Tailor. A Doctor is probably now included in the Magician's Class.

Re: Classes Layout
Okay, so we are wondering about Rangers/Archers, Doctors, Architects, and Doctors.
Re: Classes Layout
Rangers will be under Beast Master, Doctor is Healer, Architect will be Craftsman

Because you'll be using your pet as your main offense, using the bow as assistance

Re: Classes Layout
I love it, though I do have one problem with having only one class as a ranger, and it being secondary in said class. I think there should be a class with archery as your main offensive. But I do realize that it took lots of time to plan it out, and it looks good.
